We are thrilled to introduce **Badges** to ManyTCG. A brand-new achievement system that rewards you for doing what you already love: building decks, drafting, collecting, crafting, and being part of the community.

Every badge is a beautifully crafted hexagonal medal, and there are **tons** of them to earn across several categories. Whether you're a casual brewer or a hardcore collector, there's something here for everyone.

## What Are Badges?

Badges are achievements you earn by reaching milestones on ManyTCG. Create your first deck? Badge. Collect 1,000 cards? Badge. Craft a card with blue in it? _You would_—and yes, there's a badge for that too.

Each badge belongs to one of six tiers, from humble **Bronze** all the way up to the legendary **Obsidian**:

Many badges are part of **progression chains**—earn one and the next tier in the chain is revealed. Some badges are **secret** until you're close to unlocking them, so there are always surprises waiting around the corner.

## Pin Your Favorite Badge

Here's the best part: you can **pin** any earned badge to your profile avatar. Your pinned badge will show up everywhere your avatar appears—in comments, on deck pages, in search results, and in the header.

### How to Pin a Badge

1. Go to your **Profile** and click the **Badges** tab
2. Find a badge you've earned
3. Click the **pin icon** next to it

That's it. Your chosen badge now appears on your avatar across the entire site. Want to switch it up? Just pin a different badge. Want to remove it? Click the pin icon again to unpin.

If you're a patron and haven't pinned anything manually, your Literal Saint badge will show automatically—because you deserve it.

Badges Have Arrived


# Dandân: The Shared-Deck Format That Breaks Your Brain

Magic: The Gathering has no shortage of formats, but some of the most interesting ones weren’t created by Wizards at all. **Dandân**, also known as _Forgetful Fish_, is a fan-made format (created by [Nick Floyd](https://bsky.app/profile/magicstorytime.bsky.social)) that turns Magic into a battle of memory, timing, and restraint.

It is minimal, strange, and deceptively deep... and now you can play it here on ManyTCG.

## Why do people call it Forgetful Fish?

The entire format revolves around these two cards:

- **Dandân**, is the only creature in the deck and the primary win condition
- **Memory Lapse**, counters spells by putting them back on top of the shared library

Because both players draw from the same deck, every counterspell, scry, or tutor affects _both_ sides. A play that looks strong now might hand your opponent the perfect answer on their next draw.

Dandân isn’t about raw power—it’s about timing and denial.

## Ok cool cool, so what are the rules of Dandân?

Dandân is originally a two-player format where **both players share a single deck and a single graveyard**.

The rules are simple:

- Two players
- One shared 80-card deck
- One shared graveyard
- Each player starts at 20 life
- You lose at 0 life or by drawing from an empty library

Other than that, Magic works as normal. The complexity comes from how the deck is built—and how much information both players are forced to share.

## So... How do I Play it on ManyTCG??

Playing Dandân on ManyTCG is easy and requires minimal setup.

1. Make an account (if you don't have one -- [Sign Up Here](https://manytcg.com/signup))
2. Build a Dandân deck (or copy one!) - remember to include 10 copies of Dandân and 8 of Memory Lapse.
3. Click **Playtest**.
4. Invite your opponent and start playing with shared-deck rules.

## Ok... so why do people like this format?

Dandân rewards careful play more than almost any other format.

- Every spell reveals information
- Every decision shapes future turns
- Mistakes are hard to hide and harder to recover from

For newer players, it’s a crash course in stack interaction and tempo. For experienced players, it feels closer to a strategy game than a traditional Magic match.

And since all you need is one deck, it’s perfect for quick games or downtime between rounds. _Actually quick is a bit of stretch... maybe set aside a night for this one..._

Dandân proves that Magic doesn’t need complex board states or flashy win conditions to be compelling. Sometimes, all it takes is a shared deck, a forgetful fish, and the constant fear that your best play might help your opponent more than you.

## Crafted Cards Have Arrived 🎉

### Welcome to the ManyTCG Craft Page

Your ideas just became playable.

With **Crafted Cards**, you can now design fully custom cards directly inside ManyTCG—and immediately use them in decks _and_ playtests. Whether you’re prototyping a wild combo, designing a custom commander, or just having fun, crafting puts full creative control in your hands.

You can craft **up to 10 cards for free**, or unlock even more by becoming a [Patreon member](https://www.patreon.com/c/ManyTCG). Crafted cards are clearly marked with a **“CC” tag** in the top-left corner so they’re always easy to spot in the deck builder and during playtesting.

## Limitations!!

Before you get too deep into crafted cards it is worth noting some limitations! (subject to change)

- Crafted cards can only be added to the owner's deck. If you copy a deck with crafted cards in it, the crafted cards will not be copied over!
- Crafted cards are not currently draft-able. If you create a cube with crafted cards in it, they will not appear in the draft.
- Decks containing crafted cards will only appear in the deck search if you select the "Include Crafted Cards" option in the deck search filters. This is to keep the focus of deck search on decks with real cards in them.

## Getting Started ✨

Crafting a card is quick and intuitive:

1. Click **Craft** (or visit it here [Craft](https://manytcg.com/craft))
2. Choose your frames and layout
3. Add text
4. Save—and play!

To begin, head to the **Craft** page:

- Click **Craft** from the main navigation, or
- Open **My Stuff → Crafted Cards**

On this page you’ll see all of your crafted cards, along with how many crafting slots you have remaining.

Click **Craft** in the top-right corner to create a new card.

## The Crafting Tool 🛠️

The editor is split into two tabs: **Design** and **Text**. Let’s start with **Design**.

### 🎨 Design Tab

This is where your card’s look comes to life.

**Choose a TCG**  
Select which TCG you’re crafting for. (Refer to our [Roadmap](https://manytcg.com/help/roadmap) to see supported TCGs.)

**Pick a Primary Layout**  
For example, if you’re crafting an MTG creature card, select **Regular**. This ensures artwork and text render in the correct positions.

**Upload Artwork**  
Add any artwork you want featured on the card.

- Enable **Use Artwork Image Only** to display only the art
- Choose **Full Art Card** for designs where the artwork extends beyond the frame

**Design Type & Design Set**  
These control your card’s frame style. For now, keep both set to **Regular**—but feel free to explore. Some design sets include special add-ons like:

- Card crowns
- Holo stamps
- Unique frame accents

Don’t be shy—experiment!

**Layering & Masking**  
This is where things get powerful.

Add layers by clicking any of the images below. You can:

- Mask frames to use only the left or right side
- Isolate specific elements like pinlines or titles
- Stack multiple layers to create completely custom frames

Layering and masking let you create endlessly unique card designs.

### ✍️ Text Tab

Once your card looks right, it’s time to make it _playable_.

Here you’ll add all required text. For a creature card, this includes:

- Title
- Cost
- Supertype, type, and subtype
- Rarity
- Rules text
- Flavor text
- Power / Toughness

Use **Formatting Help** to see which mana symbols are supported in mana costs and rules text. You can also **bold** or _italicize_ text where appropriate.

When everything looks just right—**save your card**.

## Adding Crafted Cards to Decks 🧩

Once saved, crafted cards behave just like normal cards.

You can add them to decks in two ways.

### From the Craft Page

Click the **Options** dropdown on a crafted card and choose:

- **Create Deck With**
- **Add to Existing Deck or Bundle**

### From the Deck Builder

On the deck page, click **Add Crafted Card** directly beneath the card search bar. Select the crafted card you want to add.

## Crafted Cards Follow the Rules 📜

Crafted cards respect the rules of their respective TCGs.

For example, if you set a creature’s supertype to **Legendary**, you can use **Set as Commander** on the deck page.

Clicking a crafted card shows its full details, just like a normal card—with a clear indicator that it’s crafted.

## Playtesting with Crafted Cards 🎮

Here’s where it gets really fun.

You can **playtest decks that include crafted cards**. Click **Playtest** as usual. In the setup modal, check **Allow Crafted Cards** to enable them.

You can also uncheck this option to prevent crafted cards from being used—doing so will automatically filter them out of decks.

## Drafting with ManyTCG 🎉

### Welcome to the Draft Page

Ready to dive into your next draft? ManyTCG makes it simple and exciting to draft with friends, test your skills, or just crack some packs for fun!  
You can see all supported TCGs by visiting the <a href="/draft">draft page</a>.

### Setting Up Your Draft

Within ManyTCG, you can draft from a **cube**, a **custom draft list**, or a **set**.  
In this article, we’ll walk through how to draft from a set — the most classic way to play.

To get started, click **“Start Drafting”** from the draft homepage.  
Select **“Set”**, then fill in your options:

- The TCG you’re drafting
- The set you want to draft from
- Number of players
- Packs per player
- Picks per turn
- Turn timer

Each draft has one round per pack — so if you set **3 packs per player**, you’ll play through **3 rounds** of drafting fun.

Once you’ve got your settings just right, click **“Create Lobby.”**

### The Draft Lobby

Now you’re in the **draft lobby**, the launchpad for your draft!

Here you’ll see the **draft settings** you selected and a list of **players** in your lobby.  
Want to invite friends? Copy the **Invite Link** and share it with anyone who has a ManyTCG account.

Don’t have a full pod? No worries — **bots will automatically fill in** the remaining seats once you click **“Start Draft.”**

### Draft Time!

Here’s where the real fun begins.  
Each round, every player opens a virtual pack filled with cards from the chosen set.  
Pick your cards for the turn based on your **“Picks per Turn”** setting, then click **“Confirm Picks”** (or double-click your final card) to lock them in and pass the pack.

This continues until all the cards are drafted, and then — boom — a new round begins with a fresh pack!

Run out of time? Don’t stress. A random card will be selected for you so the draft keeps moving smoothly.

### Sorting Your Picks

Keep your draft organized and your strategy sharp!  
You can sort your picks anytime using the dropdown in your **Picks** section.  
Sort by:

- Card Type
- Cost
- Rarity
- Color

A quick sort can help you spot synergies or gaps in your deck before the next pick.

### Extras & Sideboard

Once the draft wraps up, you might have a few extra steps depending on the TCG.

For example, **MTG** players can add **lands** directly from the **“Your Picks”** section once the draft ends.  
Don’t want a card in your main deck? Click it to move it to your **Sideboard** — and click again to move it back.

### Saving Your Deck

Happy with your picks? Time to make it official.  
Click **“Create Deck”**, give it a name and description, choose whether to make it public or private, and then hit **“Create Deck.”**

After a few seconds, you’ll be automatically redirected to your brand-new **Deck Builder** page, where you can fine-tune your build, make edits, or even jump straight into playtesting with friends!
