The brief
Spread the Love - Build a Group Hug Commander Deck!!
Sometimes Commander isn't about defeating your opponents... sometimes it's about making sure everyone gets to have a good time!
For this contest, we're challenging you to build your best Group Hug Commander deck. Draw cards, ramp everyone's mana, hand out creatures, make deals, and create the kind of game where everyone leaves the table wondering whether you're their best friend... or secretly their greatest enemy.
Build Your Group Hug Commander Deck!!
For this contest, your goal is simple: build a Commander deck that embraces the spirit of Group Hug!
- Create a deck and select Commander as the format.
- Your deck should focus on helping or benefiting multiple players at the table through cards, mana, creatures, resources, or other friendly effects.
- Add a deck description or primer explaining your strategy and how you're spreading the love!
- Submit your creation!!!
Whether you're giving everyone extra card draw, flooding the table with mana, handing out creatures, making alliances, or disguising a devastating win condition behind your generosity, we want to see your most creative Group Hug brews!
Remember: being nice doesn't mean you can't win eventually.
First place will receive a $10 TCGplayer gift card plus their own custom Deck Building Contest Winner badge!
P.S. Share the contest with your friends and help grow the community — the bigger we grow, the bigger the prizes can get!

Congrats to MitchG44 for 1st place!
This deck wins by subverting traditional group hug by giving opponents massive amounts of mana (cards like Heartbeat of Spring, Collective Voyage, Overabundance) and resources, forces them into chaotic combat (Disrupt Decorum, Geode Rager, Alexios, Deimos of Kosmos), and then punishes them for using what they were given (Price of Progress, Acidic Soil, Treacherous Terrain, Zo-Zu the Punisher).
Congrats again and enjoy your prize!

This is my group hug entry for a contest. It is a testament to how much I enjoy hugging my real human friends with my real human arms because I am a human.
