# Get your thinking caps on - this month's theme is Dandân inspired!!

What is Dandân a.k.a. Forgetful fish? It is a community format where you and your opponent play from a single shared 80 card deck and graveyard. You each start with 20 life. Normal MTG rules apply otherwise.

The format centers around Dandân, a fish and an instant Memory Lapse. The deck has 10 copies of the fish and 8 copies of the instant. The whole deck revolves around casting these cards and other spells to control the library and the fishies in play. # Creature your own Dandân-_esque_ Deck!!

For this contest you will create your own **Dandân** deck. The catch is it has to be in a color other than BLUE!

1. Create a deck and select **Dandân** as the format.
2. Select a creature to be **Dandân**
3. Select an instant to be **Memory Lapse**
4. Build out the rest of the deck!
5. Submit your creation!!!

_If your deck doesn't exactly follow the "format" of Dandân (i.e. if you want to use an enchantment instead of a creature or have some additional special rules) that is ok too! As long as your deck follows the spirt of a Dandân your entry is welcome!!!_

Red Dandan

A black Dandân variant that focuses on the shared graveyard. Reanimate your swarm or play one for cheap once enough are in the bin.

Raising a Swarm

A green Dandân variant that plays like a sumo wrestling match. While players tussle over the top of the shared library, their Pages push each other around on the battlefield—as above, so below. This is a deck about top-deck manipulation, combat tricks, graveyard recursion, and the underrated skill of not being the first to blink.

### 1st Place - Red Dandân by lechatvert
This deck stays closest to the spirit of Dandân. It has that classic mono red feel while still having a healthy amount of nuance.

### 2nd Place - Raising a Swarm by AnUnknownName
Having a monoblack graveyard Dandân seemed interesting. Tasty amount of mill, reanimation and removal. I like how the swarm has menace and deathtouch…so if u blocking 1 u lose 2…it’s rough but I think this one is fun

### 3rd Place - Big Leaf Leaf by jbenhaim
It is just wild to have Page, Loose Leaf as the Dandân!! The deck may have a hard time winning one way or another so it might take a long time to win... but points for creativity. Points for a Strixhaven card too!

2024 standard be like

The "Dandân" for this decklist is Gastal Thrillroller, a Vehicle artifact that automatically becomes a creature when it enters the battlefield, as well as having a limited ability to return itself from the graveyard to the battlefield. The deck's "Memory Lapse" is Goblin Welder, a mere 1/1 that can tap to effectively swap an artifact on the battlefield with an artifact card in the graveyard. This powerful ability can be utilized offensively, defensively, for value, or interaction; however, it can be counterplayed by various cards in the deck, particularly in the form of targeted graveyard hate.
While the eponymous Dandân list focuses on vying for control of the top of the library, this list focuses more on controlling the shared graveyard. Spells you use now might be used against you later, leading to dynamic games requiring careful strategy to win.

Hold onto your NUTS; winter is coming and the squirrels across the yard are thinking the same thing. Shared deck and graveyard; Start at 20 life and survive long enough to get 8 food tokens or overwhelm the other nest.
