We will have peace in our time

Avatar Roku maintained peace through overwhelming power—and this Commander deck does the same. By forcing combat and firebending mana whenever creatures attack, you’ll profit from every swing while pulling the strings of table politics.

We will have peace in our time

In Roku’s time as avatar, he maintained peace and harmony between the four nations. His power was so revered that while he still lived fire lord Sozin didn’t dare break the peace. Avatar Roku’s Magic the Gathering card is a wonderful representation of this legendary character. If anyone attacks anyone, Roku will firebend six mana and reap untold value. Roku can also pump up the power of any creature he can target for 3 mana, giving him something to do with all the mana he firebends.

Naturally, this card is funniest and most effective when each opponent is goaded into attacking every turn. Even without any support cards, Roku can buff the attacking creature he wants to at instant speed. This alone allows for some interesting opportunities when it comes to commander politics. During combat you can aid the defender or the attacker as well as decide if some attackers or blockers die.

Cards like Aggravated Assault and Hellkite Charger should provide enough combats to finish the game out with the former going infinite and the latter going almost infinite in this deck.

With a six CMC commander, this deck runs a solid amount of ramp so that Roku can hopefully enter on turn four. This much ramp helps the deck be more consistent as well as fast. Additionally, because there isn't much protection in mono red, the additional mana should help recast Roku should he be killed.

This deck is admittedly has very few pure removal cards, but hopefully the amount of goading other creatures should compensate for that, turning your opponents’ creatures into assets rather than threats.

With less than an $80 price-tag, a deck like this should definitely be explosively fun in your bracket two or perhaps even bracket three pods
