Tannuk is an absolute riot of a commander, pushing the warp mechanic to its chaotic limits. He lets you cast artifact cards and red creatures from your hand for just 2 colorless and 1 red mana. The key word here is CAST—which means all those sweet interactions with cards like Sunbird's Invocation are totally on the table.

One of the most obvious—and fun—ways to win with Tannuk is simple: play massive creatures and smash face.
Are all these creatures incredible? Haha, no. Are they cheap? Absolutely. This deck thrives on bulk bin monsters that look terrifying when they hit the table. Any high-power creature with trample is an instant include. Think Darksteel Colossus or Eldrazi Devastator.
Creatures that grow themselves—like Hamletback Goliath or Hearthcage Giant—pile on damage fast. And honestly, part of Tannuk's charm is the jank. Cards like Oliphaunt, Hand of Emrakul, or Twins of Discord might not be perfect—but if you've got them lying around, why not? Tannuk lets you upgrade over time.

Destroy Stuff
Few things feel as good as clearing the board before you swing. ETB damage and destruction effects are Tannuk gold. Cards like Siege Dragon, Bogardan Hellkite, or Meteor Golem can turn the battlefield into a crater.
When that's not enough, look for creatures that mess with combat like Artisan of Kozilek (Annihilator 2!) or Breaker of Armies, forcing your opponent to block with everything. And don't sleep on Myr Battlesphere—instant value now and later.
Sometimes, though, it's time for a full reset. Chain Reaction can blow up everything, giving you the perfect opening for a big finish.

Let’s be honest—if you’re building Tannuk, you’ve already decided the rules of Magic are optional. You’re cheating out monsters for next to nothing, so why stop there? Let’s go full chaos and start casting things for free.
Creatures like Desolation Twin make a token clone of themselves, Ancient Stone Idol rewards you when it dies, and Firbolg Flutist lets you steal someone's creature—with myriad! Maelstrom Colossus even tosses you a free Cascade for good measure.
And here's a spicy move: after combat, cast Zoyowa's Justice on your warped creature. You've already dealt damage, so instead of watching it get exiled, you shuffle it back and Discover for that mana value. Delicious value.
Of course, Etali, Primal Storm is here too—because free spells are life.
Charred Foyer // Warped Space and Sunbird's Invocation crank the chaos up even more. Dawnsire, Sunstar Dreadnought is both a bomb and a threat. Retreat to Valakut opens attack lanes, Cut Propulsion removes threats (or triggers Bearer of the Heavens—oops), and Basilisk Collar gives your creatures deathtouch and you a bit of extra life. Crash Through can even turn a stalled board into a surprise win.

Easy: damage, lots of it.
With Avatar of Slaughter, every creature gets double strike. Bulk Up doubles power, and Gratuitous Violence doubles everything else.

Tannuk might be a “budget” deck, but don’t let that fool you—it’s a budget chaos engine. You’ll cheat out monsters, cast for free, warp reality, and laugh maniacally while doing it. Just don’t expect to keep many friends after the game ends.
